Today is about honesty... “I’m a free spirit who never had the balls to be free.” – Cheryl Strayed  We are all free spirits. However, sometimes we ignore the call to freedom. Instead, we choose to dismiss our intuition and the longing of our heart, to adopt societal norms and the values of our culture. We often acquiesce, settling for the restless comforts of conformity, because we are afraid to be free.
True freedom demands honesty. It urges us to look deeply into our intentions and motivations; to take responsibility for our actions and reactions; and to be watchful about the ways we allow our fear to imprison us. Everyone feels fear. Honesty is about realizing that your fear can lock you into beliefs or situations that are neither healthy nor appropriate for you. It is okay to be afraid. It is okay not to confront fear when it is too overwhelming. However, acknowledging your fear can bolster self-acceptance and provide clarity and freedom in the moment.
