Who is your Superhero?

Superheroes can be simple or complicated, just like people. The list below poses some questions which may be helpful in discovering and designing your superhero. Give it a read if you have problems getting started or if you wish to delve into the depth of their character. Enjoy being creative!
  • Who or what does your hero represent? What makes them jump to action? What is their mission or purpose?
  • Who do they help? Why do they do this? What do they get from doing this?
  • What do they look like? Are they human, animal, mineral or a combination of any of the three? Are they of this world or completely alien?
  • Can you describe their color, shape, size and texture? Do they have a special costume, logo, tools, gadgets or vehicles?
  • How old are they? Are they mortal or immortal?
  • Do they identify by gender?
  • What special abilities do they have?
  • What are their vulnerabilities? Do they have any quirks?
  • What kind of personality do they have? Are they emotional? Are they brainy? Shy? Talkative? Loud?
  • Do they have a secret identity?
  • What is their origin story? When, and how did they become a hero?
  • What is their background? Where are they from? How did they grow up? What is their personal history?
  • What is their identity? What their life like? What do they do for work? What is their passion?
  • Who or what do they love? Do they have families, partners, friends or side-kicks? Who helps them?
  • What discourages them? Who or what helps them get back up when they become discouraged? Where do they find support?
  • Whose opinion or wisdom do they follow or respect? How do they know that their actions are needed and just?
  • Who do they answer to?
