Today is about fear... “Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.” — Bertrand Russell Fear, like anything else in life, is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves. When we face our fear, we are accepting the invitation to become more intimate with ourselves, more honest.
Reflecting upon our fear, gives us a chance to understand and process our feelings and reactions to particular situations. Through self inquiry we may be able to identify the specific beliefs, opinions and experiences which underlie our fear. And, decide to let them go. Facing fear is empowering, liberating and essential for our growth. In his inaugural speech, on Saturday, March 4, 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt was quoted as saying, "So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." What a wise thought-provoking statement. Wishing you a day of enlightening encounters! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Photo by Stefano Pollio on Unsplash

Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! LYRICS: If I needed you Would you come to me, Would you come to me, And ease my pain? If you needed me I would come to you I'd swim the seas For to ease your pain In the night forlorn The morning's born And the morning shines With the lights of love You will miss sunrise If you close your eyes That would break My heart in two The lady's with me now Since I showed her how To lay her lily Hand in mine Loop and Lil agree She's a sight to see And a treasure for The poor to find Today is about being bullet proof "If you can laugh in the face of adversity, you’re bullet-proof." - Ricky Gervais No one passes through this life unscathed. We all encounter obstacles and challenges. We all suffer pain in one form or another. Some of us have physical limitations, some of us experience emotional disturbances, some of us face mental challenges and others undergo crises of spirit.
Courage is born from adversity. It develops as we face our problems head on with honesty, kindness, and sometimes, humor. Laughter has the ability to bring us out of ourselves and our suffering. To reunite us with our joy and playfulness. When we laugh, our bodies release endorphins, natural "feel-good" chemicals, which promote a sense of well-being and relieve pain. Laughter lowers blood pressure and stress hormone levels, which in turn decreases anxiety and improves our immune systems. Making us more robust and resilient, impervious to slings and arrows. However, I would still be careful around bullets :) Wishing you a river of laughter running through your day! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Photo by Sarah Kilian on Unsplash Today is about ... “The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm.” ― Aldous Huxley Genius is sustained through the childlike wonder for mysterious nature of life and the fearless curiosity to excitedly set sail for the unknown.
Enthusiasm and a playful attitude are essential to living a creative life. Following our joy, brings us health and happiness and a feeling of expansive timelessness. In which, we thrive. Wishing you a day of joyful pursuits! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Photo courtesy of MI PHAM on Unsplash Today is about freedom... "Laughter is sunshine, it chases winter from the human face." - Victor Hugo Laughter has the powerful ability to free us from our worries. To transport us, from despair to delight, instantly.
Laughter releases tension. It allows us an opportunity to see a situation from a different point view. And, a choice of how we can respond. Happy Independence day, Superhero! Wishing you a day of sunshiny ecstasy! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Photo: Coutesy of SweetFrau. https://www.sweetfrau.online/ Today is about feeling better. “Choose to be optimistic. It feels better.” -Dalai Lama Choosing to be optimistic is life affirming. It implies trust that the universe is functioning exactly as it needs to. That everything will work out in the end. Knowing this, one can experience a sense of great release and openness.
Operating from an optimistic frame of mind increases our capacity for resilience, enabling us to rise more effortlessly to meet obstacles and challenges in our lives. Maintaining an optimistic outlook creates its own joy, and settles the mind. It breaks the cycle of negative thought patterns, leaving our minds more spacious, and our hearts more available. When we truly wish the best for ourselves and others, we embrace the opportunity to expand our capacity for caring for all life. And, that feels awesome! Wishing you a day of bright-sided awareness! Be here now.” - Akiroq Brost How often do we find ourselves actually present in our lives, not worried about or planning for the future, or lost in thoughts and experiences of the past. As humans, we have a tendency to slip into worry or regret, becoming mired in the world of thought, and disconnected from the present moment. We cannot do anything about the past and we cannot act to secure a certain future. Life is here and now, and it is unpredictable. To be present we must abandon our biases from the past and our demands for the future. We must see what life is bringing forth in us and where it will take us. And, then we may discover now and what we are being, here. Wishing you a day of gracious nowness! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on. Photo: Courtesy of SweetFrau. https://www.sweetfrau.online/ Today is about love... "Loving someone does not mean saying "yes" to whatever the other person wants. The basis of loving someone else is to know yourself and to know what you need... Its important that another person does not take priority over listening to yourself and knowing what you need." -Thich Nhat Hanh No is a viable option, always. We live in a goal-oriented culture which uses conditional love and shaming as societal controls.
As children, many of us learned to ignore the longings of our heart and comply with the wishes of others to gain love, praise and attention. We acted against ourselves to avoid the humiliation of public shaming, and the pain of rejection. To say no to something which is not right for you requires courage and honesty. And, a willingness to be vulnerable, by revealing a different aspect of yourself. Saying no to someone, especially someone you love, who you want to continue to love you, can be difficult. But, it is absolutely essential to your growth and the health of your relationship. Saying no can be an act of great love and trust. Wishing you an empowered day of kindly decisiveness! Photo by Jen Theodore on Unsplash Today is about water? “Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.” – Lao Tzu “Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water.” ― Bruce Lee Water comes to us in many forms. It can appears as steam from a volcanic vent, as rain from a spring shower or as ice from the Arctic shelf. Water sustains all life on our planet. Yet, it asks for nothing in return.
To be like water is to flow with the moment. To be open to taking whatever form is needed temporarily, before moving onto the next. Finding strength, in flexibility and softness. Wishing you a day of fluid mobility! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Photo by mrjn Photography on Unsplash |
