Today's inspiration is a poem...
Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself Any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go. You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.) KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS! Wishing you a day of super successful decisions! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on!

Today is about generosity ...
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” - Kahlil Gibran While it is beneficial to provide material items to those in need, the giving of money or physical possessions is just one form of generosity. True generosity does not use currency as a benchmark. True generosity arises spontaneously in the moment, and may appear in many different forms. Sometimes, it is listening to a troubled friend, or giving attention to the child tugging at your sleeve. Other times, it is sharing a conversation and a laugh with a stranger, while waiting for the bus. Generosity involves meeting the situations in our lives openly, without a predetermined agenda. Generosity is about being expansive enough to allow others to have a different opinion. And, love them regardless. Wishing you a day of festive enthusiasm! Fly on, Superhhero. Fly on. “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice." - Steve Jobs Opinions are a form of repression. When we hold an opinion as being absolute, we close our hearts and minds to all other possible perspectives. We view all other views as being inferior to the one that we hold. Which, we will then feel the need to defend. Opinions change with time and fashion. What is in today, is out tomorrow. Nobody can predict, with any certainty, what is actually best for anyone. No one else has the privilege of being you. No one else can hear your inner voice or heed your inner calling. No one else knows for real, what is best for you, who you should be, how you should live or what you should do. Only you. You know that. If you doubt this, try putting aside all opinions and listening for that voice, that knowing. It is there once you eliminate all the noise. Wishing you a day of sheer revelation! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Today is about trust ...
“You are much stronger than you think you are. Trust me” – Superman We are all born with an inner strength which is honed through our experiences in life. We fortify this strength, when we are able to meet challenges and obstacles with an open tenderness for ourselves and others. True strength requires a willingness to be vulnerable, to be centered, honest and touched by the plight of others. Without, shutting down in fear and sheltering beneath self-interest. Being strong requires trust in yourself above all else. Trusting that, in any given situation you will do your best. Because, you will. Everything that you need it inside you. Wishing you a day of unexplored potential! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Today is about choice... "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me..." - Jill Jackson and Sy Miller This video "Safety Match," created by artists Juan Delcan and Valentina Izaguirre, was meant to illustrate the benefits of social distancing. But, it speaks to all matters of choice. It allows us to witness the consequences of one conscious choice made by one individual. Wishing you a day of free-wheeling clarity! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHx_slAQfMM Today is about anger ...
“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger... holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." - Siddhartha Gautama Forgiveness is a difficult act in the presence of fear, pain and anger. But, it is essential to life moving forward in an abundant and collaborative manner. Holding onto hurt, resentment and hatred effects the totality of our being and taints our experience of life. It poisons our perspective, weakening our ability to craft creative solutions. It robs us of opportunities for greater health, joy and connection. To forgive something is to let go of the pain we are holding inside ourselves, to let it diminish and dissolve. Rather than, embellish itself through repetition, robbing us of the possibilities of peace and happiness. The choice to forgive requires the heart of a lion. And, it is always available. Wishing you a day full of irrepressible merriment! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! A poet's advice on living a vibrant life ...
This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body. - Walt Whitman, excerpt from the Leaves of Grass Wishing you a day of embodied rapture! Fly on, Superhero Fly on! Today is about love … “Can't we give ourselves one more chance? Why can't we give love that one more chance? Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love …?” - Queen & David Bowie “Why can’t we give love?” is a remarkable question, with, billions upon billions of different answers. We could lump these responses together, under the heading of “pressures that no one asked for.” And, this may be true. But, it may also be true to say that it is because we have allowed these “pressures” to separate us from humanity. To alienate us from ourselves and each other; and our compassion and forgiveness. Though our conditions and situations differ, we all suffer pressure. We all experience fear and pain. Remembering this, will help us to act with compassion in the moment, when we encounter anger in ourselves and others. And, perhaps, allow us to extend forgiveness sometime thereafter. Wishing you a day of unparalleled capacity! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! Under Pressure was released in October of 1981, almost 40 years ago. It is as relevant and true today, as it was then. "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt We are a conduit of things to come. Created from the beliefs and dreams which we hold dear, the future moves through us into being. It arises from what we are doing and thinking right now. Belief is a fundamental power of all superheroes. To believe in the beauty of a dream, means to know that a different way of "being" is possible. And, that you are the one who can help foster it into this world. Belief requires more than strength and courage. It requires curiosity, imagination, commitment and resilience. Paradoxically, it also helps to develop them. Wishing you a day of courageous curiosity! Fly on, Superhero. Fly on! "When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life." - Jean Shinoda Bolen How often do we take time to nourish and replenish our energy. To pursue things, that spark our interest, or tug at our heartstrings, or simply bring us joy. How often do we dismiss the impulse to engage a spark or follow a feeling of joy? Telling ourselves that, it is silly, irrational, impossible or impractical to do so. When we deny the stirrings from our soul, we are effectively ignoring our intuition and missing the opportunity to discover something new and different in ourselves. Nourishing ourselves involves taking the time to discover things which we genuinely enjoy. And, then giving ourselves the time, space and permission to enjoy them.
